AESTHETIC TREATMENTS 

We  are often asked what is the latest treatment and what are we offering patients now that was not available a year or two back.  Here is a summary of recent changes in my aesthetic practice that can result in a better,, more natural look using proven safe treatments that are now available.  Please note during the Spring 2009 various discount schemes are available for new and established patients, making Dr. Myers’ treatments the lowest costs of any medical aesthetic clinic in Essex.

NEW – USING COMBINATION TREATMENTS

Over the last few years cosmetic doctors have discovered that using several different treatments for the same area can produce synergistic effects, that is improvements beyond that could be achieved by each individual treatment.  Examples of this might be found in the treatment of deep frown lines (lines in the glabella area between the eyes).  Traditional treatments such as Botox may not always fully resolve deep lines, so using a combination treatment of Botox plus a dermal filler like hyaluronic acid, may give a better, more natural look.  Whether or not you have had individual treatments such as Botox or a dermal filler like juvederm or restylane in the past, an assessment consultation may determine how combination therapy may help you.

NEW – Sculptra 

 In a number of patients, especially for those aged over 40,  simple dermal fillers  do not produce a result quite as good as we would like, and for these individuals we can offer a range of more advanced treatments using Sculptra, the details of which are highlighted in the accompanying leaflet.  A Sculptra course of treatment produces results that last two or three years, so has definite advantages over dermal fillers.  It is a safe treatment that gives very pleasing results.  For a no-obligation consultation to see if this is the right treatment for you make an appointment to see Dr. Myers 

 NEW The new approach to BOTOX treatments - Less Pain, Less Bruising!

Dr. Myers practice is now to use 32 gauge needles.  These are tiny needles and the smallest in current use in the UK !!!  This produces virtually pain free treatments, with a much reduced chance of causing bruising.  We also use “Coolsense” a brand new amazing  invention which concentrates localised cooling before and after the Botox procedure to reduce pain and bruising effects.   In addition for some patients smaller doses of Botox can be administered, using a technique described in the USA as “Baby Botox” and uses slightly smaller doses in the upper face to produce a more natural look in which lines and wrinkles are reduced but facial movements are preserved.  Dr. Myers has extensive experience in this approach.

NEW – A brand new skin rejuvenation treatment presents an alternative to peels and lasers.!!   Introducing ‘Restylane Vital White’

Up to now expensive invasive treatments such as ablative laser peels or deep chemical peels have been offered to patients who require a skin rejuvenation treatment.  The Restylane VITAL  range now offers  a new product; carefully designed to revitalise the skin by restoring hydro-balance; promoting the production of healthy skin by balancing the nutritional environment of the skin at cellular level by attracting and releasing water when needed. Skin vitality and lustre is restored and skin condition is improved. Treatment with Restylane Vital White has now become simpler and more comfortable thanks to the new, innovative Restylane® pen type injector.   

Restylane Vital White is a newly formulated, less concentrated hyaluronic acid gel specifically designed for use in more sensitive skin areas, such as the crows feet lines, neck and décolletage which have been, up until now, difficult to treat. Restylane Vital White boosts skin elasticity leaving it looking smoother and feeling firmer and more toned.  It can be used in its own right as a skin boosting treatment or in conjunction with the Restylane filler range to optimise treatment results. For many women Restylane Vital White offers the perfect way to embrace aesthetic treatments for the first time and combine with their skin care creams.  Restylane Vital White is not mesotherapy – robust, clinical evidence supports its safety and efficacy; it is proven to be effective.  Skin revitalisation treatments require the delivery of many small reproducible volume deposits. This is particularly important when treating sensitive or delicate skin areas.  Dr. Myers has treated a number of patients with this product with very encouraging results.

NEW - The latest anti ageing topical treatments..on prescription only.

There are still many products in the market that are heavily promoted as being effective for removing lines and wrinkles.  Dr. Myers believes that almost all of these are no better than simple moisturisers.  However over the last three years he has been advising a specific “prescription-only”  medication (POM)  to help lines and wrinkles that are associated with sun damage.  This product has a significant body of evidence published in medical journals, (not beauty magazines ! ), and can be prescribed for suitable patients.  Please note this is a treatment that is not suitable for everyone, and a skin consultation, often in conjunction with  UV photography, is required initially.
